What's New in the States! The Los Angeles Galaxy�s new football stadium opens in 2003. The stadium, which will seat more than 20,000 people is part of a $12million sports complex on the campus of Cal State Dominguez Hills in Carson. There will also be an 8,000 seat stadium and tennis, track and field facilities, as well as a cycling academy for young athletes. With three floors of exhibits and an interactive learning centre, the museum shares the 168th Street Armory site with one of the country�s most important indoor tracks in Washington Heights. New York boasts two new minor league baseball teams in new stadia. The Staaten Island Yankees� 7,500-seater stadium on Staaten Island has views over Manhattan skyline and the Statue of Liberty, while the New York Mets-affiliated Brooklyn Cyclones play in a state-of-the-art complex on Coney Island. New England has a new 68,000-seater stadium opened in May in Foxboro, Massachusetts. The $325 million CMGi Field, home of the Super Bowl football champions the New England Patriots, replaced the original Foxboro Stadium.
