Hand Luggage Policy for the United States

American Airlines

If you are travelling to USA, due to heightened security measures American Airlines recommends check in 3 hours prior to your departure time.

At this time only 1 carry on piece of baggage will be permitted and should not exceed 45 inches in length, width & height combined.

This restriction applies on all American Airlines flights to the United States from Barcelona, Brussels, Dublin, Frankfurt, London, Madrid, Manchester, Milan, Paris, Rome, and Zurich.

Customers travelling in First Class, Business Class or with PriorityAAccess will be exempt from this restriction as will AAirpass, Aadvantage Executive Platinum, Platinum, or Gold members and oneworld Emerald, Sapphire, or Ruby members. For these customers, the normal carry-on allowance of one bag plus one personal item still applies.

British Airways

Following a review of security arrangements to the USA, British Airways advises all customers to check-in as normal.

Club World and First customers will be able to take 2 items of hand luggage.

Customers travelling in the World Traveller and World Traveller Plus economy cabins will continue to be able to take only 1 item of hand luggage.

Customers travelling to destinations outside the United States or from the United States are not affected.
