Qatar Airways launch flights from Cardiff to Doha and beyond

Qatar Airways is to launch a daily flight from Cardiff Airport to its hub in Doha, Qatar, in 2018. The new service will be the first regular direct long-haul flight linking Wales and South West England to a major global hub in the Gulf region. It will allow business and leisure travellers to fly directly from their local airport via Doha to a choice of over 150 destinations across the globe in Asia, Australasia, Africa and the Middle East. The new service from Cardiff will be the latest addition to a growing network of destinations that Qatar Airways serves across the UK and Ireland.

More comfort, space and luggage with Iberia Premium Economy

Iberia has become the first airline to offer a Premium Economy seating class between Business and Economy on direct flights between Spain and Latin American destinations. Premium Economy will be rolled out across all 37 long-haul aircraft for completion in early 2018. Eight Airbus A330-300s will have 21 Premium Economy seats, and 13 Airbus A340-600s will have 23. The new Premium Economy seats are available for flights in May to and from Chicago and New York, in August to Miami and in September to Boston.

Jet Airways and Virgin Atlantic expand codeshare

Virgin Atlantic and Jet Airways have joined forces to bring convenient new travel options to customers flying via London Heathrow to India and the US. The extended codeshare agreement offers significantly enhanced connectivity from London Heathrow onwards to nine US destinations operated by Virgin Atlantic; Atlanta, Boston, Newark, Washington, New York, Los Angeles, Miami, San Francisco and, from the 1st May 2017 Seattle.

Norwegian Air UK launches Gatwick to Singapore route

From the 28th September 2017 Norwegian Air UK will offer low-cost flights to its first Asian destination, Singapore's Changi Airport. This will be the first long-haul service to be operated by Norwegian's UK-based subsidiary, Norwegian UK. Four weekly flights, increasing to five from 30th October 2017, will be operated on Norwegian's new 787 Dreamliner aircraft offering up to 344 seats in both economy and Premium cabins. Norwegian already offers flights from Gatwick to nine US destinations, including newly announced routes to Seattle and Denver.
