‘Shaking it’ to save lives!

by Traveleads | January 23, 2019 | CSR

Last Saturday saw two of our fantastic Traveleads ladies taking part in a Zumbathon, in aid of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

To give you an idea of what the Yorkshire Air Ambulance does, it serves a population of almost 5million people, over 4 million acres and they are completely reliant on the generosity of the kind hearted people of Yorkshire to keep them operational. Staying airborne costs a whopping £12,000.00 per day. The fast response they can provide is vital to anyone who has received a major trauma, especially head, or spinal injuries.

The Air Ambulance can get a patient from the site of any trauma to a hospital much faster than a conventional ambulance – in these situations time is paramount and the crucial time the air ambulance saves can make the difference, in many cases, between life and death.

In the words of a the famous 80’s hit, Lauren and Karen ‘danced themselves dizzy!’ and did Traveleads proud, helping in the combined effort, which saw the event raise over £2,000.00 for the charity. Well done to all of those kind enough (and energetic enough!) to take part.

Congratulations to Karen and Lauren who raised over £200.00 between them, we’re sure Yorkshire Air Ambulance will be extremely grateful and appreciative of your commitment and determination. Hopefully no one reading this post will ever need to call upon their services, but for the many that do it is vital they are there.
