The Great Scottish Bake Off – In aid of childrens charity THE YARD

by Traveleads | January 22, 2019 | CSR

The Yard offers disabled children, young people, and their siblings, the chance to experience creative, adventurous indoor and outdoor play in a well-supported environment. It is a unique, safe space where children and young people experience truly inclusive play. The Yard is open to all disabled children and young people.
They have been creating adventure play opportunities for disabled children since 1986. As well as their flagship centre in Edinburgh, they run services in Dundee and Fife (Kirkcaldy). Families tell us The Yard is an important lifeline that creates a sense of belonging, community, and support for parents and carers too.

When our team in Edinburgh heard The Yard were holding a bake sale this Sunday they raced into the kitchen in a bid to help them raise much needed funds to keep their projects going. They mixed and stirred, whisked and beat, folded and poured … now they really knead your help – see what we did there!

This Sunday The Yard is open to everyone! So come along with the kids and enjoy a fun packed day. Help make a real difference to the lives of many disabled children while enjoying scrumptious biscuits and cakes, that even Mary Berry would be proud of! Children can play in the adventure playground, get messy in the art room, roll about on the soft play, build a castle in the sandpit, ride bikes or just get outside and run around.
Members of the Traveleads team will be on hand throughout the day to help you choose the perfect pastries and cakes. Please join us in supporting this fantastic charity or visit their website to make a donation – go on, help to make a child smile!

The Yard Edinburgh is located in Canonmills near George V Park. A 15-20 minute walk from Princes Street. You can drop in any time from 10am to 5pm. We suggest arriving before 3pm so you can play for two hours. Because we don’t know how busy it will be, it is a good idea to book, especially if you are bringing a larger group. If there is a queue, you will be able to go straight in. To book, please call 0131 476 4506 from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.
See you on Sunday!
