Traveleads supports World Mental Health Day
by Traveleads | January 23, 2019 | CSR
October 10th is recognised by the World Health Organisation as World Mental Health Day. The day provides a platform for all those working on mental health issues to talk about their work and what more needs to be done to make mental health care a reality for people worldwide. This year the focus is aimed at young people and mental health in a changing world. Many high profile individuals are championing such projects including Princes William and Harry, the brothers recently set out to break taboos surrounding mental health calling for an end to the ‘stiff upper lip’ culture, encouraging anyone suffering with mental health issues to speak out and seek help.
1 in 4 people experience mental health issues. It is estimated that 1 in 100 will suffer from serious mental illness, which is why our Edinburgh based Traveleads team recently took on the audacious task of the ‘100 Street Challenge’ in association with ‘Support in Mind Scotland’. The charity is hoping to raise £10,000 this year to continue delivering crucial mental health services across Scotland. To show your support you can donating (any amount) through our JustGiving page …or by texting HEDZ99 followed by the amount you wish to donate to 70070
