Tried & Tested: Manchester Macdonald Hotel & Spa

If you are commuting into Manchester for an early morning appointment, or doing business in the city for a couple of days, chances are you will need accommodation for at least one night. In a city boasting so many great hotel options how do you choose which one to stay at?
We recently put the Manchester Macdonald Hotel & Spa to the test.

Originally the iconic curved BT building on London road, Macdonald hotels have invested over £30 million into preserving the heritage of one of Manchester’s best known landmarks. At the same time they have created a contemporary, luxurious hotel, offering guests the very best in terms of comfort, style and ultra-modern amenities.
With almost a whole floor dedicated to meetings and conferencing spaces, the hotel can lend itself perfectly to both corporate and leisure sector requirements.
If you need a small space to hold an intimate meeting, or perhaps conduct an off-site interview, one of the smaller, but fully equipped meeting rooms are ideal.
If you are looking for a venue to hold your next conference and need a space that can accommodate large groups, staging, and a whole range of seating layouts, the larger rooms can comfortably seat up to 240 attendees, in a theatre style configuration. Banquet (220 seats) and cabaret style seating (120 seats) can also be arranged.
With a choice of corporate packages available, the Manchester Macdonald Hotel & Spa is the perfect venue for all MICE bookings.

Perfectly placed – adjacent to Piccadilly train station – the hotel offers one of the most convenient locations for visitors travelling into the city by rail. For guests arriving by car, secure onsite parking is available at the rear of the hotel, a real bonus – and a rarity in many city centre locations. Please note one-way road restrictions are in place in front of the building, the simplest way to reach the car-park is to enter the following post code into your GPS device: M1 2AR

For those wanting to explore the sights and delights of the city that first split the atom in 1919, and is famous for being the birthplace of Emmeline Pankhurst (mother of the suffragette movement), the place where Rolls met Royce, home to Manchester United and Coronation Street, the hotel is the perfect base from which to discover the many attractions of Manchester. For those who want nothing more than to simply relax and unwind after a hard day the hotel offers a choice of facilities for guests to enjoy. Enjoy pre-dinner drinks in the friendly hotel bar, then savour a delicious dining experience in the AA Rosette award-winning restaurant. An open kitchen, along with a choice of signature steaks and other delicious options, all prepared using the finest ingredients, will leave you spoilt for choice.
Spend an hour or two in the onsite spa, a zen like retreat away from the hustle and bustle of the city, offering a full range of treatments for both men & women.

A choice of luxuriously appointed rooms and suites provide the perfect place to start, or end your day, and with free Wi-Fi throughout the hotel, staying connected to home has never been easier.
