Tried & Tested: Raithwaite Hall Whitby

by Traveleads | November 26, 2018 | Latest News On The Ground

Traveleads Operations Director Carol Newton recently stayed at Raithwaite Hall in Whitby. She was so impressed by their attention to detail and wonderful hospitality that she just had to share her experience with us:

My sister and I spent Monday night at Raithwaite Hall in Whitby and I’m struggling to remember a time when I was so well looked after by hotel staff. Having been in the industry for a very long time, that is quite a statement to make!
The reception team offered to park our car the moment we arrived and Rachel (who checked us in) came up to the room with us to make sure we were happy with everything – a great first impression!
We were upgraded to a deluxe room on the first floor which was spacious, warm and extremely comfortable. It had everything we needed, just perfect!

Once settled in, we headed down to the Spa and again the staff couldn’t have made us feel more welcome. The treatments were fantastic and the relaxing room afterwards was a great way to end our spa experience.

We went for a short walk, but as it was raining heavily we didn’t stay out very long. The grounds are beautiful – really something else!

We booked dinner at Hunters Lounge, which is located in The Keep. Simon (who is an amazing ambassador for Raithwaite and perfectly suited to his role!) met us at reception and gave us, along with an another couple, a lift to The Keep. We were met on arrival once more by friendly, welcoming staff. They invited us to take a seat in the bar area whilst we chose from the menu before being escorted to the restaurant when our meals were ready. There was a varied menu and something to suit everyone’s palate, even fussy vegetarians like me!

After our meal the reception team arranged a lift back to the Hall where we retired to our room to enjoy the facilities (and some sister banter) before drifting off to sleep.
We had a hearty breakfast the next morning in the Brace Restaurant which set us up for the rest of the day – again, nothing was too much trouble.

All in all a really fabulous experience, topped by the most amazing staff in all areas of the estate …who could ask for more!
Thank you Raithwaite – it is my pleasure to recommend this hidden gem!
