After 45 faithful years of service Airfrance will retire the last of its remaining Boeing 747 jumbo jets this weekend.
The aircraft made its final scheduled commercial flight between Mexico City and Paris CDG.
To simply wave it off unceremoniously would not be a fitting way to say good-bye to one of aviation’s greatest feats of engineering.
The aircraft will make two very special ‘tribute’ flights later this week, flying passengers over France’s historical landmarks during a business class lunch and champagne service.
