Meeting Room Enhancements

Macdonald Compleat Angler in Marlow has upgraded two executive boardrooms to an impressively high standard with stunning views of the River Thames.

Free unlimited WiFi

Having invested over £1million into the IT infrastructure the group also offers free, unlimited Wi-Fi access in meeting rooms, lounge areas and bedrooms. At a number of the key conference hotels across the UK, up to 100 megabytes per second of extra, dedicated bandwidth is available.

The Peninsula Paris: A Modern Day Palace

The Peninsula Hotels makes its grand entrance into Europe with The Peninsula Paris, opening the 1st August 2014, setting new standards in design, luxury and comfort. Perfectly situated at 19 Avenue Kléber, just steps from the Arc de Triomphe and the Champs Elysées, the hotel sits in the heart of Paris within walking distance of some of the world's most famous monuments, museums and luxury shopping districts. A new Moxy Hotel is scheduled to open at London Heathrow in 2015. The new brand from Marriott International is aimed at Generation Y and will combine contemporary stylish design, approachable service and, most importantly, an affordable price. The first Moxy Hotel will open at Milan Malpensa Airport in September this year, followed by hotels in Munich, Berlin, London, Frankfurt and Oslo. Marriott has plans to then extend the brand across Europe with 150 hotels expected to open in the next decade.

The Queen's Terminal at Heathrow Airport

The latest step in the transformation of Heathrow Airport is the opening of the new £2.5 billion Terminal 2, The Queen's Terminal, which will be used by up to 20 million people a year. More natural light, lots of space and new technology will bring a fresh and more pleasurable experience for customers.

It will bring 23 Star Alliance member airlines together under one roof for the first time facilitating easier and more efficient journey connections and providing better customer service in a beautiful new space. Terminal 2 will also be home to Aer Lingus, Virgin Atlantic Little Red and Germanwings.

Passengers checking in at Terminal 2 will use the latest innovative technology aimed at speeding their journey through departures. Terminal 2 gives customers a choice of check-in methods: quick and easy self-service kiosks, fast bag-drop desks and full service check-in desks. Automated ticket / boarding card presentation will offer swifter access through security where a less constrained environment offers an intuitive route for passengers.

There will be 52 shops and, 17 bars and restaurants including seven restaurants with airfield views and a John Lewis showcase retail space. Technology will enhance the shopping experience with most restaurants using iPads with the menu in multiple languages.

Public transport connections, rail, tube and bus, will feed directly into the terminal's striking central courtyard and the new multi-storey car park is right outside the front door.

The gradual transition of airlines moving to Terminal 2 will happen over six months and when fully occupied, Terminal 2 will have 332 daily flights to 54 global destinations.



Virgin Atlantic and Delta Airlines Partnership Expands Network

Thanks to the Delta partnership, Virgin Atlantic will be operating a daily London Heathrow to Atlanta route. The partnership launched earlier this year is increasing the network of both carriers with 32 daily non-stop flights between North America and the UK and a total of 200 onward connections now available.

From the 26th October Virgin Atlantic will begin operating one of Delta's three daily Heathrow to Atlanta flights. The new services will expand the award-winning service offered by both carriers to its customers as well as providing greater choice for travel between the UK and North America.

In return, Delta will be operating one of the two daily Heathrow to Los Angeles flights currently operated by Virgin Atlantic. The new service will mark the airline's first non-stop flight between Los Angeles and London Heathrow and is Delta's seventh non-stop destination between London and the United States.



In July 2014 Yorkshire welcomes the Grand Départ of the Tour De France to our region. On the 5th and 6th July 2014 the route of the race passes within a few miles of Leeds Bradford Airport and could cause disruption if you are travelling to the airport. We recommend that you leave plenty of time for travel and check your planned route here.
My Lounge, the new concept from No1 Traveller is the informal lounge option perfect for groups, families and couples. Located in Gatwick North Terminal, My Lounge has a Family Snug and GamesDen with TV, PlayStation and table football as well as magazines, Macs and Wi-Fi. You can also graze on nibbles and help yourself to draft beer and drinks. Prices start from £16 per adult.
British Airways have introduced an exclusively dedicated "Express Connection" lane to assist customers on the most time critical connections through to their onward flights. The new queue layout within the immigration hall area at London Heathrow's Terminal 5 will assist eligible customers provided with orange Express Connection invitations upon disembarkation.
For winter 2014 SAS is launching seven new routes. SAS passengers can enjoy flying direct on the following routes: Copenhagen-Las Palmas, Aalborg-Malaga, Billund-Malaga, Gothenburg-Geneva, Bergen-Las Palmas, Oslo-Hamburg and Oslo-Vilnius. In 2014 SAS has launched a total of 53 new routes with twenty summer routes continuing on the winter timetable.
Qatar Airways increased its operations from Doha to Jakarta with the addition of four new flights a week offering passengers more choice and improved connections across Qatar Airways' global network. Flights to the Indonesian capital will increase to 18 per week and offer an additional 192 Business Class and 1,888 Economy Class seats per week.
