Best Small Business Travel Agent - Runner Up
Traveleads were presented with the runners up award at the recent 22nd annual Scottish Passenger Agents Association Awards for the best small business travel agent in Scotland.
Wayne Russell Traveleads Sales Director for Scotland was at the awards ceremony and although he would have loved to have stepped up and collected the winners award he did say, "We are very happy to be runners up however it makes us even more determined to be the best next year and come out as winners. Virgin Atlantic Update
New 787s Ready for Business
| Virgin Atlantic's new Boeing 787-9 Virgin Atlantic fleet are set to revolutionise the airline, with an incredible on-board experience and more sustainable, safer and efficient aircraft. Innovations on the 787 such as dynamic on-board mood lighting designed to reduce jet lag, large electronically dimmable cabin windows and higher humidity and lower cabin altitude, make a more refreshing, less tiring journey. On-board Wi-Fi is also available throughout. Birthday Girl, the first 787 is currently flying between London Heathrow and Boston and 787s will soon be flying to Washington and New York. |
Tobago Service
| Virgin Atlantic will be resuming flights from London Gatwick Airport to the island of Tobago. Weekly departures will commence in March 2015, and will increase to twice weekly from October 2015 to March 2016. Virgin Atlantic will be operating the flights with a short stop in St Lucia before the flight continues to Tobago. The flights will operate on the new A330-300 aircraft, featuring touch-screen Panasonic entertainment systems and mobile connectivity, with 33 Upper Class, 48 Premium Economy and 185 Economy seats. Virgin Atlantic will offer 23 return flights a week to its Caribbean network. |
Delta Partnership
| Virgin Atlantic has taken over one of three daily nonstop flights Delta had been operating from London Heathrow to Atlanta as part of their partnership, Delta continues to operate the remaining two flights. Virgin will also be operating the Manchester service from March 2015. Atlanta gives unprecedented access to 160 destinations throughout the US, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean. As part of the partnership, Delta will also operate one of the two daily Virgin Atlantic flights between Heathrow and Los Angeles. |
Lufthansa Premium Economy
Lufthansa's New Premium Economy class will be available throughout the entire Lufthansa long-haul fleet by late 2015. The retrofit which began in Autumn 2014 will be carried out gradually by sub-fleet, with the Boeing 748-8 fleet the first to be fitted with the new Premium Economy seat. The first flights in Premium Economy will be available from today to Washington DC, Chicago, Mexico City, Sao Paulo, Hong Kong, Beijing, Los Angeles, Tokyo Haneda, Buenos Aires, Seoul and Bangalore.
Lufthansa Premium Economy will offer more comfort, personal space, relaxation and entertainment. The seats offer up to 50% more space and you're never more than one seat away from the aisle. The spacious armrests have a built-in cocktail table to save you space so your fold-out table can be turned into a large and sturdy work surface for your laptop. With extra storage and comfortable footrests you can stretch out and relax with all the things that are important to you.
You will stay satiated with a welcome drink, a water-bottle and your chosen dish from the menu, served to you on china tableware. Premium Economy features larger 11"/12" screens to enjoy the entertainment programme and there are power sockets at every seat to connect your own devices. Passengers will also benefit from two pieces of 23kg baggage, a travel accessories pack and access to the Lufthansa Business Lounge for a fee. |

New SAS Route: Edinburgh to Copenhagen
From the 29th March until the 10th August 2015, Scandinavian Airlines will have a new direct route from Edinburgh to Copenhagen, initially flying five days a week with an increased frequency during the summer peak season.
This now means that during summer 2015, SAS will have direct services from Edinburgh to all three Scandinavian capitals. The new service to Copenhagen will complement the existing seasonal services to Oslo and Stockholm.
As always with SAS, your ticket includes one piece of free 23kg baggage, free seat reservation and free online check-in. You can also earn whilst travelling with Scandinavian Airlines Eurobonus program, points are earned on all flights.

Finnair have introduced Sky Bistro, their new dining experience. You can mix and match your own meal from classic, seasonal and themed flavours when flying Finnair Economy Class within Europe. The Sky Bistro has a wide selection of high-quality food and beverage options combining the best of Europe and Asia. Sky Bistro replaces the complimentary cold snack service. |

American Airlines is to join United in offering a year round service to New York from Birmingham Airport. From the 8th May 2015 American Airlines will fly non-stop to New York JFK whilst United will continue its long-established operation to New York Newark. The daily flights will be operated on two-class Boeing 757s. |

Qantas have unveiled a new Economy international inflight dining offering. The choice of three main dishes, a vegetarian offering and a wider pre-bookable range, are top quality, offer 50% larger servings and allow for a faster service. The product will be rolled out across routes starting with the daily A380 services to both Melbourne and Sydney via Dubai. |

UK regional airline, Linksair, has been awarded the new four-year contract to operate the North-South Wales air service between Cardiff-Wales Airport and Anglesey Airport. Linksair have operated the route for the past two years and will continue to operate two daily return flights but with a revised schedule to allow for a longer working day at both destinations. |

From today British Airways premium customers will have the option to pre-order meals on long haul flights from London Heathrow. Passengers travelling in British Airways' First, Club World and World Traveller Plus cabins can now order meals on-line up to 30 days in advance up until 24 hours prior to take-off accommodating dietary requirements and guaranteeing customers first choice. |

Vueling will introduce new services to Barcelona from May 2015. The Spanish airline which is a sister company to both British Airways and Iberia already operates to Barcelona from Cardiff, Edinburgh and Gatwick. The new flights will be operated on Vueling's 180-seat Airbus 320 fleet, twice weekly from Belfast, three-times weekly from Birmingham and six-times weekly from Dublin. |
