Staying positive during a global pandemic
by Traveleads | March 24, 2020 | Latest News
As the coronavirus situation continues to grow, with cases showing no signs of slowing down and the news constantly changing, it can be incredibly hard to focus on the good. Here, we’ve shared our top tips for staying positive during a global pandemic.
1. A ‘Daily Getaway’
Here at Traveleads, we’ve introduced a new internal newsletter, the ‘Daily Getaway,’ sharing positive news and motivational tips with our colleagues. Consider introducing something similar in your routine, whether it’s taking five to have a positive conversation with a colleague or family member about something other than the news. Your daily getaway could even be spending your lunchbreak reading a book or some simple stretching exercises mid-afternoon.
2. Stay connected
Many people are now working from home where possible, as advised by the government. Although everyone’s situations will vary, it can be easy to feel isolated while at home.
Further to utilising social media, such as LinkedIn, to stay connected with the business community, introduce regular video calls with your colleagues (wherever they are in the world) using Zoom or Skype – the difference a smiling face can make, as opposed to just catching up on email or the phone, can be paramount.
3. Look ahead
With government advice and business activity changing daily, it can be easy to get caught up and not think ahead. However, now is a great time to start considering the future - not only is planning thought to help in reducing stress, but you’ll be able to hit the ground running when things are back to normal.
This could be the time to consider your business processes or to think about future travel plans – whether that’s for professional or personal reasons. If you’re already a Traveleads partner, speak to your account manager about updating your business travel policy or if you’re reviewing how your company approaches business or group travel in the future, our team of experts would be more than happy to have a chat.
If you’re aiming to stay informed, while retaining some positivity in your new daily routine, make sure you’re following us on social; find us on LinkedIn, Twitter and Facebook and say hello, we’d love to hear from you.
