Flybe's new year round service between Leeds Bradford and Newquay Airport operating three times a week is due to begin at the end of this month. The service, which starts on the 28th October, is the fourth and final Flybe route to be announced under the Government's Regional Air Connectivity Fund. The fund was launched last year to encourage new routes to and from UK regional airports and improving connectivity for business and leisure travellers.

Travel alerts have been issued for Florida and the U.S. east coast as devastating Hurricane Matthew barrels north after battering Jamaica, Haiti and Cuba.
Hurricane warnings have been issued for the Bahamas for today (Wednesday) with the storm forecast to head towards the Florida east coast later in the week.
The most powerful hurricane in almost a decade struck poverty-stricken Haiti with winds gusting up to 145mph.
The UN said the country was facing the “largest humanitarian event” since a massive earthquake in 2010.
