Congratulations to Emirates as they celebrate being named the ‘Best Airline in the World’ at today’s Skytrax awards held in Hampshire.

After missing out last year to Qatar Airways, Emirates president Sir Tim Clark was clearly delighted with the prestigious award and stated ‘Emirates has always put our customers at the heart of what we do, and we work hard to deliver the very best possible experience to our customers at every touchpoint, every day, all around the world.’

New dining options from Turkish Airlines

With the introduction of Turkish Airlines' new catering concept, guests will be treated to chic restaurant-style dining at 37,000 feet. Turkish Airlines offers lots of dining surprises, including being able to drink a glass of freshly brewed tea served in traditional "samovar" Turkish style, enjoying a candlelight dinner or having an espresso from a specially designed cup. Turkish Airlines has completely renewed its on-board catering concept in a bid to offer its guests a unique travel experience, when flying in Business, Comfort or Economy.

Best on-board amenity kits - sky-high style!

As airlines continue to compete for the attention of the high spending premium traveller, it isn’t just cabin lay-outs and seats they’re improving. In-flight amenity kits (handed out to first and business class passengers) have also undergone a serious upgrade! Gone are the zip-up nylon pouches, containing plastic throw away toothbrushes and ‘one size fits all’ tube socks, replaced by sophisticated washbags crammed full of luxury products, from some of the most distinguished fashion houses in the world.

VisitBritain and Turkish Airlines Partnership

A new global marketing partnership between VisitBritain and Turkish Airlines has been unveiled to encourage more international visitors to holiday in the UK. The international marketing campaign will focus on Saudi Arabia, India and other Gulf countries over the next year. Turkish Airlines serves seven cities in Saudi Arabia, providing even more connectivity via its Istanbul hub to the airline’s five UK regional gateways; London Heathrow, London Gatwick, Manchester, Birmingham and Edinburgh.
