New Oman visa requirements

Travellers to Oman will have to apply in advance for a visa online in a move announced by the Omani government. The new entry requirements mean visas can no longer be obtained on arrival.

Previously, most travellers could choose between the two types of application to obtain a visa on arrival, either at an airport or border post, though the e-Visa system launched last year.

Virgin's twice daily London to Johannesburg service

Virgin Atlantic has announced a second daily service between London Heathrow and Johannesburg OR TAMBO Airport. The new service will begin flying in winter 2018 with the first flight departing on 28th October 2018. The new flights are now on sale and will be operated by Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. With two flights per day to South Africa’s biggest city, Virgin will carry over 300,000 customers annually – helping to support tourism and trade between the two nations.

British Airways new low-cost options to the US

British Airways have introduced new long haul Basic Economy fares on selected US routes. The new fares aim to offer customers more choice at a lower price with the ability to personalise their trip based on their travel needs.

Shares in Low-cost Norwegian Airlines Soar Following Announcement

International Airlines Group (IAG) the owner of British Airways has today announced it is considering making an offer to buy low-cost airline Norwegian Air Shuttle
IAG confirmed it already has a 4.61% stake in the airline which it considers to be “A position from which to initiate discussions, including the possibility of a full offer for Norwegian” However IAG maintain “No such discussions have taken place to date” and “no decision has been taken to make an offer” which means there is no certainty any offer will be made.
