Qantas customers travelling from Brisbane now have a stylish new space to relax, work and dine before their overseas flight, with the Qantas Brisbane International Lounge. The lounge is based on the award winning Hong Kong and Singapore Lounge concept, with the food and interior design taking inspiration from the local region. The lounge is now open for Qantas customers travelling in Business, eligible Frequent Flyers and oneworld members.

Due to Wightlink’s £45million Investing for the Future project the Portsmouth Car Ferry Terminal will be closed for installations of double deck boarding ramps on 1st, 2nd and 3rd November 2016.

The Investing for the Future project will provide a new ship on the Portsmouth to Fishbourne route and updates to port facilities at Portsmouth and Fishbourne car ferry terminals underway.

The easy-to-use double deck boarding ramps are currently being installed at both terminals increasing vehicle capacity, and improving reliability and punctuality especially at peak travel times.

Flybe, Europe’s largest regional airline, have responded to the demands of the Welsh market by adding additional capacity and another new route to its network this winter. Flybe will begin operating a twice a week Cardiff to Berlin route on a Wednesday and Saturday from 2nd November 2016. Flybe’s Glasgow route will increase to 11 flights per week, meaning Welsh business passengers have even more day return options from Cardiff.

Iberia is to Offer New Premium Economy Class on 37 of its Long-haul Aircraft. With an emphasis on comfort, wider seats, more leg-room, more steeply reclining seat backs, and larger display screens. The new seating sections will be available gradually next summer and will be for sale at the beginning of 2017. Iberia will be the first airline to offer this cabin on direct flights between Spain and Latin America

SAS' Intercontinental routes have been upgraded for greater cabin comfort with new seats in all classes. To make flights even more comfortable, a new entertainment system with HD large screens is being installed along with WiFi access. The materials and colours create a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere, with new mood lighting introduced throughout. The seating in SAS Go and SAS Plus is designed with good storage to create extra space. All seats in SAS Business will now have direct access to aisles and can be folded flat for maximum comfort.

A growing list of airlines are refusing to carry the new Samsung Galaxy Note 7 and passengers are being advised not to use the device during flights. The US Federal Aviation Administration announced the safety measures recently following Samsung Electronics global recall of all handsets after reports some devices exploded whilst charging.

The US Department for Transportation measures are in place for all flights to and from the United States.
