This month the popular Yorkshire airline, Jet2 has announced an order for 27 new Boeing 737s worth £1.71 billion which will be delivered over the next two years, with the first aircraft due for take-off in September 2016. The investment in new aircraft will provide the opportunity to expand the leisure travel business and renew its airline fleet. The success of the Leeds Bradford Airport based airline is due to continued strong demand for leisure travel package holidays and flight-only products that Jet2 provide. Jet2 currently operates 59 Boeing 737s and carried just over 6 million passengers in 2014 and, with an increase in passenger numbers in 2015 the future looks optimistic for Jet2.
