Work on the £20 million Leeds Railway Station southern entrance is due to be completed in November 2015. Network Rail and their contractors Carillion have undertaken the design and building works which comprises a concourse deck over the River Aire within an eye catching enclosed building. In addition to the structural changes there will be ticket vending machines at the entrance from which a full range of tickets can be purchased and collected, including the new WYCA smart cards.

As the improvement works at Leeds ends the focus will shift to the £1.1 million investment for upgrades and improvements at Harrogate station. Over the next few months Network Rail and Carillion will fully refurbish the main concourse and waiting room, refresh of the exterior facades and design a new waiting shelter for platform three.
