There are big changes afoot at Los Angeles International Airport. Delta Air Lines are undertaking one of the largest terminal moves in commercial aviation history, and shifting all its operations from Terminals 5 and 6 to Terminals 2 and 3. This is the first step of Delta’s $1.9 billion investment that will see its two new terminals upgraded over the next four years. The move has taken place over five days, with completion on the 17th May. This means from late May, Delta will be co-located with Virgin Atlantic at LAX Terminal 2.

From May 2017 Virgin Atlantic in conjunction with its joint venture partner Delta Air Lines will offer a third daily service between London Heathrow and Los Angeles, creating greater choice of flights for customers during the peak summer travel season.
As part of the joint venture, Virgin Atlantic and Delta will co-locate their operations at across Los Angeles International Airport making connections between flights seamless for customers who want to travel onwards to over 20 Delta destinations, including Mexico, Hawaii and other parts of the U.S.

Delta Air Lines have begun work on their new Premium Economy cabin which will be introduced on all the new A350 aircraft and rolled out on other selected international flights in autumn 2017. Delta A350s will feature 48 Delta Premium seats, as well as 32 Delta One suites and 226 Main Cabin seats. Delta Premium Economy will roll out on its Boeing 777 fleet in 2018.

From 26th May 2017 Delta Air Lines will double their Scottish network with a new seasonal route between Glasgow and New York JFK. The flight is a new addition to the Delta Air Lines and Virgin Atlantic partnership and adds to the existing Virgin Atlantic seasonal service from Glasgow to Orlando. The service will operate daily throughout the summer, and passengers travelling onwards from New York JFK can choose from over 60 daily onward connections throughout America.

From next May, Delta Air Lines in partnership with Virgin Atlantic will launch the first service between London Heathrow and Portland, Oregon. The new nonstop route will be a seasonal service beginning on 26th May 2017 and will operate four times a week. Delta Air Lines will also strengthen its partnership with Virgin Atlantic by exchanging some of their current routes.

Delta Air Lines in partnership with Virgin Atlantic have begun a new London Heathrow to Salt Lake City service, offering customers a convenient gateway to Monument Valley and the major Utah ski resorts. The service will operate daily over summer, three times a week in November and December, then four times a week during the ski season. Customers will also have access to an extensive network across the USA, with the ability to connect to over 200 destinations.
