Flights to and from Germany’s six main airports face extensive cancellations, disruptions and delays on Wednesday 27th April due to strike action by ground staff.
The industrial action threatens to affect ground handling, passenger checks and airport fire services at Frankfurt, Munich, Düsseldorf, Cologne/Bonn, Dortmund and Hanover airports.
All long haul services from Munich have been grounded, while only a small number of domestic and European services are expected to run.

Flybe has commenced flights for the Winter programme from Southampton featuring 17 routes including a brand new daily service to Dusseldorf and in total offering a choice of up to 420 flights a week effective until 26th March 2016.
Europe’s largest regional airline, has also introduced a new route from Liverpool John Lennon Airport to Edinburgh. The daily mid-morning service to the Scottish capital will be Flybe’s fourth route from Liverpool, complementing its other services to the Isle of Man, Belfast City and Amsterdam.

Low-cost airline Norwegian has launched a brand new route from Edinburgh to Tenerife as it continues to expand at the airport.
Now operating two flights per week to the Spanish island of Tenerife with fares starting from £59.90 one way.
Flights will depart on Thursdays and Saturdays operated by brand new Boeing 737 aircraft – which provide free Wi-Fi for all passengers.
