Low-cost LEVEL launches

IAG's low-cost transatlantic airline; LEVEL, have launched their first flights from Barcelona to Los Angeles, operating twice weekly and San Francisco (Oakland), operating three times per week. Additional flights to Punta Cana start on 10th June 2017 and operate twice per week, plus flights to Buenos Aires start on 17th June 2017 and operate three times per week.

Singapore Airlines will operate world-first 'Green Package' flights

Committed to the global effort to reduce international aviation emissions, Singapore Airlines in partnership with the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore has started operating a series of 12 ‘Green Package’ flights over a three-month period on its non-stop San Francisco-Singapore route. The ‘Green Package’ flights combine the use of sustainable biofuels, optimised flight operations, which will reduce fuel burn and carbon emissions, and Singapore Airlines’ latest-generation fuel-efficient Airbus A350-950.

Jet Airways and Virgin Atlantic expand codeshare

Virgin Atlantic and Jet Airways have joined forces to bring convenient new travel options to customers flying via London Heathrow to India and the US. The extended codeshare agreement offers significantly enhanced connectivity from London Heathrow onwards to nine US destinations operated by Virgin Atlantic; Atlanta, Boston, Newark, Washington, New York, Los Angeles, Miami, San Francisco and, from the 1st May 2017 Seattle.

New low-cost long-haul airline: LEVEL

IAG has launched new brand; LEVEL, within the group that will operate a new generation of long-haul flights. Scheduled flights will connect Barcelona with San Francisco (Oakland), Los Angeles, Punta Cana and Buenos Aires. Tickets are available to purchase now and Iberia will be responsible for the initial operation of the flights.

LEVEL will start this operation with two brand new A330-200 aircraft which will show the new brand corporate image and will offer a two cabin configuration, with 293 seats in Economy and 21 seats in Premium Economy.

Virgin Atlantic increase West Coast connections

Virgin Atlantic, in conjunction with Delta, is updating is summer schedule to give customers a better choice of flights to the West Coast. From 1st May to 28th October, they will offer a third non-stop daily service between London Heathrow and Los Angeles International Airport.

Aer Lingus' US route expansion

Aer Lingus' long-haul expansion continues with the introduction of the daily Dublin to Newark service beginning on the 1st September, plus a four-times weekly service to Hartford, Connecticut will commence on the 28th September.

Transatlantic connections to the 28 daily Aer Lingus flights across the Atlantic this summer are available from 19 UK airports including Manchester, Liverpool, Birmingham, Glasgow and Edinburgh. UK passengers can take advantage of Customs and Immigration pre-clearance at Dublin Airport facilitating a faster arrivals procedure in the US.
