Passengers travelling to Melbourne, Australia will now have another direct flight option with Emirates announcing that flights EK408 and EK409 will begin operating as non-stop services from Dubai from 30th October 2016. The service from Dubai to Melbourne currently operates via Kuala Lumpur and the change to a non-stop service will save passengers approximately two and half hours in each direction.

Together, Emirates and codeshare partner Qantas operate 91 flights per week to and from Brisbane, Perth, Melbourne, Adelaide and Sydney in Australia from Dubai, including six daily A380 flights. Passengers travelling to Malaysia will continue to be able travel to the country on Emirates’ three daily flights to Kuala Lumpur from Dubai and, alternative travel plans are being made for passengers booked on the previous route.
