Singapore Airlines Premium Economy has arrived. Passengers on-board the Sydney to Singapore route were the first to experience the enhanced comfort, additional choices and exclusive privileges of Premium Economy. A further 18 routes, operated on retrofitted Airbus A380s, Boeing 777-300ERs plus the new A350s due in 2016, will also feature Premium Economy to destinations such as Hong Kong and London.

The Government of Canada has introduced a new entry requirement, known as an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA). Under eTA, citizens from countries other than the United States, who do not need a visa to enter Canada, will need to obtain an online authorization before flying to Canada, this includes British citizens.

Icelandair have announced a new year-round service from Aberdeen International Airport to Reykjavik. From the 9th March 2016 the flights will operate four times weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The flight to Reykjavik will provide easy connections to Icelandair’s 15 North American destinations including New York, Seattle, Toronto, and from 2016 Chicago, and reduce current travel times by up to several hours. The flights operated by Icelandair subsidiary, Air Iceland, will provide seating for 72 passengers with a choice of two cabins, Economy and Economy Comfort.

The charging trays are compatible with Android, Blackberry, plus iPhones using a cable. Customers simply place their compatible device on the tray to charge it wirelessly. With free Wi-Fi in all Emirates Lounges globally, and on nearly 120 aircraft, customers can also stay connected throughout their journey. This new offering is another step in Emirates' plan to offer greater mobility and connectivity to its customers.

There is more woe for London commuters as further tube strikes are planned by London Underground staff in a dispute about night-time Tube plans. The 24-hour walkouts will begin at 18:30 on Tuesday 25th August and 18:30 on Thursday 27th August.
It seems likely that London Underground will have to postpone the start date for the 24-hour tube services, which were meant to begin on 12th September due to a break-down in negotiations with Rail, Maritime and Transport (RMT), the Transport Salaried Staffs Association (TSSA) and Unite union members.

From today, 'casual business travellers' holding a UK passport will be able to apply and pay for an online visa using the Indian government’s tourist visa website.
This should make the process of obtaining a visa easier and cheaper as travellers will not have to make an appointment at the embassy and the cost will be reduced from £89.44 to £39.
