Avios, which operates the British Airways Executive Club and Iberia Plus frequent-flyer schemes, will re-launch the Aer Lingus loyalty programme, as AerClub from next spring. Passengers will be able to collect reward points on flights and other travel services including car hire and hotels. The new scheme will have four tiers of membership instead of three and will offer members the opportunity to earn points based on frequency of travel and spend on Aer Lingus.

Qatar Airways have announced the launch of eight direct flights from Birmingham to Doha and beyond commencing the 30th March 2016. Birmingham will be Qatar Airways fourth departure point in the UK after London Heathrow, Manchester and Edinburgh. The schedule for Birmingham is designed to allow passengers good connectivity to Asia, Australia, Indian subcontinent, Middle East and Africa in both directions. The flights will be operated on the state-of the-art Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

From the 15th March 2016 passengers who are visa-exempt for travel to Canada will be required to obtain an electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) prior to their departure to Canada. Visa-exempt passengers trasiting via Canada are also required to obtain an eTA prior to their departure. Exemptions include U.S. nationals and individuals who are in possesion of a valid Canadian.

Finnair Plus Platinum, Gold and Silver members can now earn extra Finnair Plus award points for flights between Europe and Japan when flying with Finnair, British Airways or Japan Airlines.
In order to receive extra points you need to fly on one of the eligible routes until the 29th February 2016. Finnair Plus Platinum members will receive 100% extra award points (instead of 25%), Gold members receive 50% extra award points (instead of 15%) and Silver members receive 25% (instead of 10%).
